J.J. Akau is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness, and Strength Coach, Marine Veteran, and certified Kickboxing Instructor. With over 30 years in a variety of systems including Jeet Kune Do, Kempo, Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Kali / Escrima / Arnis, and more, J.J. wrote and developed the AKSEPT Evolution Training Method to streamline student growth and development in the martial arts.
AKUMA stands for Athletic, Kinesthetic, Universal Martial Arts and is a growing database of techniques, exercises, and drills.
This system is built to give you the physical and mental know-how to expand and fine-tune your martial arts journey on your own or in any school and in any art of your choosing.
Kaizen translates from Japanese meaning "good change" or "improvement". The idea invokes a mentality based on constant growth, breaking old or redundant thought patterns and practices to develop a modern day martial art systems.
OUR TARGET
Create, maintain, and evolve a foundation within martial art systems to ensure a "kaizen" progressive state over generations of martial artists.
Kaizen Coaches are experts who hold high-level credentials or certifications and live to build you to your highest potential. More are headed your way.
We teach a mix of movements with an emphasis on Filipino martial arts.

Skill build strikes, focusing on mitt drills and combinations mixed with Filipino traps, graps, and destructions.
GOAL: Self Defense & Reflex Response
Rewrite your reactions with principles inspired from a variety of martial arts.
GOAL: Weapon Affinity & Sport Application
A blend of FMA drills to enhance range control, coordination, and weapon handling with blunt and bladed weapons.
GOAL: Somatic Control & Mobility
Bilateral drills, traditional-style katas (forms), mobility sets, and athletic footwork.
GOAL: Recovery & Flexibility
Active, passive, and assisted stretches to speed up the body's healing process and increase ROM.
